Artist Statement

My final application was made from the help of 'Gravity Swarm'.  I used the the same particle generator as I did not know how to make it from scratch.  I studied Gravity Swarm's particle generator to try and get an understanding on how it worked.  My mouse toy uses both the left and right mouse click and mouse movement to to interact with the particles.  The left click causes the particles to drop as the gravity is increased.  The right click repels the particles from the mouse.  Moving the mouse attracts particles.  All the particles are contained with in the frame. My inspiration for this assignment was how pollen and dust particles reacted and interacted with air currents.

Precedent 1 - Gravity Swarm

I used the particle generator in Gravity Swarm to help create my interactive mouse toy.

Particle Experiment 2

Particle Experiment 2

In this experiment I tried to create an interactive particle generator.

Particle Generator Experiment

Particle Generator Experiment

In this experiment I investigated how particle generators work and played with the opacity of the particles to create a smoke effect.

Experiment 2

Experiment 2

This is the second mouse toy I created. I experimented with pattern making.

Experiment 1

Experiment 1

This was my first interactive mouse toy I created. It uses left and right mouse click and also mouse movement.
